I have been using Collinite Super Double Coat for the better part of 30+ years. I am a retired Deputy Sheriff and we had take home patrol cars. I came across Collinite in the 1990's through an advertisement in a automotive magazine and I decided to give it a try and ordered it through the mail. Immediately I knew it was an excellent wax for keeping my patrol car protected from the extreme elements we had where I patrolled including heavy snow, road salt contamination, and just from general daily use on the road, often putting up to 200 miles per day on patrol around the 125 square miles I patrolled. I then tried other waxes from Collinite including 845 Insulator wax (which I used as a "topper" to the Super Double Coat), and lastly the best of all the Collinite waxes, Marque d'Elegance wax. I then recommended Collinite to a few of my friends and they too started using it for their vehicles including their own patrol vehicles. It works excellent as a winter wax as it is very resistant to road salts and general road debris, sometimes called "traffic film". I always apply two coats of the wax I am using, usually 24 hours apart just to let the wax set a bit and bond successfully to the properly prepared paint. I was also a detailer back then as a side job and we used Collinite to wax the vehicles we detailed. It was one of the most durable waxes on the market back then and it still is a very good wax. I have never used a true ceramic coating, only the sprayable Si02 type of sealants. I still prefer using Collinite over anything with ceramic or whatever formulation is in those products. Still, in the modern age of ceramic this and that where it seems that every bottle you pick up has the word "ceramic" on it somewhere, even interior detailing products. There is still a place for waxes and they still work just as well as they did 35 years ago. I just enjoy the process of waxing my vehicles and I like the finish it provides. I personally can get six months of protection, and sometimes more depending on how much I drive my sports car, which is garaged whenever it is not being driven. I may only drive my sports car 20 times during the spring, summer, and fall so a coat of Collinite lasts for quite a long time, especially if I use a spray wax topper to extend the protective properties of the base layers of Marque d'Elegance wax. Anyone looking for a great hybrid wax with the glow of a really good carnauba wax, along with the longevity of the added polymers, look no further than Collinite! You will most likely be blown away by it's look and performance on your vehicle. The few tips I can provide for a great user experience is to always work either in the shade, or inside a garage, away from the sun. Otherwise the wax will flash on the paint too quickly and will be a bear to remove. The second tip is THIN THIN THIN coats, as thin as you can possibly make them to have a good experience wiping the wax off the paint and revealing the wonderful glossy finish afterwards. The Collinite wax is very hydrophobic and dirt, dust, and debris will be very easy to remove from the paint as long as you utilize a PH NEUTRAL soap, not harsh decon soaps and products like that. PH neutral is all you need. I personally use Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo, which I have been using as long as I have been using Collinite. One final bit of advice is you need to properly prep the paintwork before applying the wax. Meaning you need to spend a few hours before application to really prep the paint to a point that the wax will bond to the paintwork. Use a decent clay bar or one of the new synthetic clay mitts. I have used almost every type of clay product available from Liquid Clay Bar products, to the regular clay, to the mitts and sponges available now days. They all do a decent job so pick one you like. I personally like Meguiars Professional Line Detailing Clay Mild. It's a little more expensive than your typical clays found in the retail stores, but it truly works far better and yields way better results than that cheapo stuff at the retail stores. Skip using that crap. I think it works better than the synthetic clay mitts and really helps to remove embedded contamination that no wash product alone will remove. Then of course, spray down the paint with an iron remover of your choice, check for tar spots and use a tar spot remover to get rid of that whether on the paintwork or on the rims. Some detailing pros and enthusiasts like to use a product called a "panel prep" (which is usually a mix of distilled water and alcohol) to wipe down the entire paintwork to ensure any remaining contamination is completely removed. In lieu of using a panel prep, I just wash the vehicle again using a decon soap which essentially does the same thing as a panel prep and gets the paintwork squeaky clean and ready for the wax application. While these steps sound a little bit overwhelming to a person at home just looking to maintain there vehicle in good condition, it is well worth the effort and a few hours extra time to get the paintwork nice and clean. I actually use a glaze as the final preparatory step and then put a coat of wax on after the glaze has been applied. I use a small machine polisher (Flex PXE-80) to apply both the glaze and also the Collinite Marque d'Elegance wax. Once all that is done (I usually reserve a day off or weekend day to do the prep/wax of my vehicle, enjoying the process, and finally enjoying the fruits of my labor with a beautifully finished vehicle. I have a red sports car so it really looks spectacular when you take the time to complete the proper preparation steps first. You can also polish the paintwork (highly recommended if you have scratches or micro marring on the paint) and then use the glaze to gloss up the paint even more and fill in any remaining scratches that couldn't be removed through polishing. POLISHING is what give you gloss, not the wax. The wax protection just enhances the polished finish and gives that deep, rich, reflective finish that we all love on our pride and joy cars! Once you try Collinite, you will most likely be a life long user of their waxes and other products. I haven't tried the brand new stuff that Collinite released yet, but I will most likely try it in the near future including their new 845 Sprayable Insulator wax as a topper and also their new BEADCOAT which has gotten stellar reviews by YouTubers! Thank you Collinite for making some of the best waxes available. Even at $45 a tin, the Marque d"Elegance or the most reasonably priced Super Double Coat will last you for years most likely depending on how often you use it.

I tried the Beadcoat on a 1980 Trans Am. The car was cleaned, decontaminated, buffed, and IPA prepped. The Beadcoat has a pleasant smell and it's easy to use.
Let me start by saying I NEVER leave reviews for anything good or bad, but I felt compelled to after using this product. Anyway after getting my car pro ceramic coated, I was left missing that Collinite 915 glow on my black paint. Called up Collinite, didn't catch the guys name, but the rep recommended with complete confidence that I apply this beadcoat to get my 915 glow back. I was absolutely blown away after doing just half my hood with this product, there was a clear line from side to side in my paints depth. Super easy to apply and buff. I won't be able to comment on the hydrophobic properties or durability as my car is newly pro coated, but in the look and feel department on a coated car it's a hit! Thrilled with this product and can't wait to use their SlickR this Sunday before a concours event.

I have had this bottle of 845 on my shelf for a long time. I have been using 915 for 5 years. It’s absolutely amazing. I decided to try the 845 yesterday. After washing and claying my Silverado 1500. It was time for 845 application by hand. It went on easy. And buffed off easy with my nice microfiber towels. It looks nice. Not as deep as 915. But the ease of applying 845 and removing it is surprisingly a lot less physically demanding than when my old bones and body use 915 applied by hand by this dinosaur of a human being. That is why it gets 5 stars from another very satisfied customer.
